Knollwood Construction was founded by, and is operated by, Chuck Kiser. Chuck got his start in the trades during high school working in the carpet and tile field. An apprenticeship in service plumbing followed, where Chuck learned plumbing from the foundation up. After an 8 year stint in the U.S. Submarine Service, followed by 10 years working in the Aerospace and Defense industry, Chuck returned to the trades. This return to building started simply, requests from family and friends to fix or build something.
Before long requests to repair, replace and remodel came from others and a company was started. A lifelong hobby of woodworking prompted Chuck to study to become a carpenter; specializing in custom cabinets, trim work and built-ins.
As a General Contractor, we have to have a very broad range of skills and knowledge. Continuing education is required to stay current with the latest building science, building codes, new materials and construction techniques. Chuck is an active member of many professional construction forums and regularly attends various construction conferences, seminars and company sponsored workshops.
